Therapeutic Approach
My therapy practice is solution focused and based on your own strengths.
I enjoy collaborating with clients to find solutions that are best for them to achieve their goals. I am systems minded, meaning that I view each person I work with in the context of their family, school/work, community, religion, and culture. We’ll identify what is troubling you, set goals, and find solutions.
While I use primarily Solution Focused and Cognitive-Behavioral techniques I also use a variety of other methods to fit your goals. I have experience working with individuals, families, teens, and children. My aim is to help you find joy and be the best version of yourself that you can possibly be.
Individual Services
I specialize in anxiety and depression for all ages. I also have experience working with individuals in life stage transitions, whether you are graduating, getting married, divorced, becoming parents, changing job or career, adjusting to a move, etc. These are big life changes and a good time to get some support. I do career coaching as well as stress management in the workforce.
Women’s Support
I am a Perinatal Mental Health-Certified Therapist through Postpartum Support International (postpartum.net). Having two young boys myself, I understand the complexities of both post-partum depression/ anxiety, as well as the change in dynamics as your family grows bigger. I also recognize the stress of managing a household and going back to work. I can help process the change of identity in becoming a mom, prioritizing self-care, and self-esteem. I help women dealing with stress, anxiety, and depression both at home and in the workforce.
I believe in perinatal support (both during pregnancy and postpartum including depression, anxiety, etc). I help to address relationship challenges with your partner, as well as bonding with your baby, and shifts in relationships with older children. I also provide parent coaching (see below). I am a certified Gottman Bringing Baby Home Educator.
Adolescent Services
Teens deal with unique pressures from school, friends, physical changes, and planning for the future. There are also changes in family dynamics as they gain more independence and responsibility. These years can be filled with extreme highs and lows. My goal is to help the teens I work with gain skills to manage life’s hurdles and handle the increasing responsibilities and pressures that come their way.
I have over 12 years of both clinical and non-clinical experience working with middle school and high school age groups. I also have experience working with teens on the autism spectrum. I work with students dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, academic issues, social issues, and more. I am LGBTQ+ youth affirming.
Family Counseling
Families can bring about the most joy and frustration in one’s life. I help parents with parent coaching to give tools and resources to help them feel more equipped to handle a variety circumstances in a calm and intentional way verses a reactive approach. I work with kids to help them express frustrations and confusion in a supportive role. I help families to improve communication and understanding and decrease frustration.
